Match-day transport options

#1

SkyTrain — Main Street–Science World station (OFFICIAL match-day route)

Recommended

IMPORTANT: On World Cup match days, Stadium–Chinatown and Yaletown–Roundhouse stations are CLOSED to pedestrian access to BC Place because of the secure perimeter. Use Main Street–Science World station instead — TransLink will stage empty trains there for fast post-match boarding. Both Expo and Millennium lines stop at Main Street. Trains run every ~2 min around matches; service extends 1 hour later for 8pm+ kickoffs.

Duration: 10 min walk from Main St station to BC Place Cost: CAD 4.55 (TransLink confirmed standard fare — NO World Cup hike)
#2

SkyTrain from YVR Airport → Waterfront → Main St

From YVR take the Canada Line to Waterfront (25 min), transfer to the Expo Line east two stops to Main Street–Science World. Tap a Compass Card, contactless credit/debit card or mobile wallet — same fare both legs.

Duration: ~40 min from YVR Cost: CAD 4.55 (3-zone fare from airport)
#3

Walk from downtown

From most downtown hotels (Robson, Coal Harbour, Yaletown) the BC Place security perimeter is 10–20 min on foot. Note there is only ONE official entrance on match days — follow the staffed walking corridor signs from your nearest SkyTrain station rather than heading straight to the stadium.

Leaving the stadium

TransLink stages empty trains at Main Street–Science World after the final whistle for fast boarding. SeaBus runs every 10 min before/after matches and extends 1 hour later for 8pm+ kickoffs. The Yaletown bars are a 10-min walk via the official corridor if you want to celebrate before heading back.

Heads up

  • ·Stadium–Chinatown and Yaletown–Roundhouse stations are CLOSED to BC Place pedestrian access on match days — heading there will force a long detour. Always use Main Street–Science World.
