Eat like a local

Fast bites near stadiums, late-night spots, regional must-tries.

Local Food Tips

These suggestions are advisory and based on commonly reported traveler experience. Availability, prices and operating hours may vary significantly by city, venue and matchday demand.

01

Near the stadium

Tip: eating a couple of hours before kickoff is generally a good idea. Long wait times are common during major events, and prices near venues typically increase — walking a block away can sometimes help.

02

Late night

Late-night food options are widely available in major cities across all three host countries: 24h diners and Mexican taquerias in the USA; street food in Mexico; poutine spots and shawarma in Canada. Hours may vary by neighborhood and day.

03

Regional must-tries

Recommendation: try regional specialties when you can — tacos al pastor in Mexico City, Texas-style BBQ brisket, Montreal-style bagels in Toronto and a Philly cheesesteak in South Philly are commonly mentioned highlights.

04

Dietary needs

Major US and Canadian cities generally handle vegan, gluten-free and halal needs well. In Mexico, vegetarian options can be more limited outside of large cities — learning a few key phrases (e.g. 'sin carne', 'sin queso') is recommended.
