Tickets, decoded
How the official ticketing system works — without the fine print headaches.
Standard match tickets are primarily sold through FIFA's official channels. Premium hospitality packages are sold through FIFA's official partner (On Location) and authorized providers. Tickets sold outside these channels carry significant risk — most are scams or violate FIFA's terms.
Step 1 — Create your FIFA ID
- 1Go to FIFA.com and create your FIFA Account (free).
- 2Creating a FIFA ticketing account typically requires personal details, email verification and agreement to terms. Additional verification steps may vary.
- 3Add a payment method that supports international charges in USD or CAD.
- 4For security, users are encouraged to use strong passwords and enable any available security features (such as 2-factor authentication when offered).
Step 2 — Understand the buying phases
01
Phase 1 — Visa Presale Draw
Typically Visa cardholders only
Tip: FIFA has historically used a random-draw model. Submit your wish list (commonly up to 10 matches). Applying earlier does not generally improve your chances. Final structure may vary.
02
Phase 2 — Early Ticket Draw
Generally open to FIFA ID holders
Recommendation: similar wish-list mechanic in past tournaments. Dates and rules may vary — always check the official FIFA Ticket Hub for the current phase.
03
Phase 3 — Random Selection Draw
Open to all
Typically the last structured draw before the tournament. Applying multiple times with the same FIFA ID does not generally increase your chances and may violate terms of use.
04
Phase 4 — First-Come, First-Served + Last Minute
Open to all
Real-time sales. Last-minute releases have historically occurred in the days before kick-off as held seats are released, but availability varies significantly.
Step 3 — Know the price ranges
Approximate FIFA-published face-value ranges in USD. Final prices may vary significantly by category (1–4), match, country of residence and demand. Always confirm on the official FIFA Ticket Hub before purchase.
| Stage | From | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| Group stage | $60 | $1,500 |
| Round of 32 | $90 | $2,000 |
| Round of 16 | $120 | $2,500 |
| Quarterfinals | $200 | $3,500 |
| Semifinals | $300 | $5,000 |
| Third place | $200 | $3,000 |
| Final | $600 | $6,730 |
Mistakes to avoid
- ✕Buying from anyone but FIFA Official Ticket Hub (fifa.com/tickets) or FIFA's authorized resale platform.
- ✕Trusting Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram or Facebook 'sellers' — these are 95%+ scams.
- ✕Booking flights and hotels before tickets are confirmed and paid.
- ✕Sharing your FIFA ID login with anyone, ever.
- ✕Buying paper tickets — all 2026 tickets are mobile only and tied to your FIFA ID.
Pro tips
- Apply for matches in cities you'd happily visit anyway. You won't always get your top pick.
- Group-stage tickets are 5–10× cheaper than knockout rounds — perfect for first-timers.
- Set price alerts on the official resale platform — face-value tickets do appear, especially 7–10 days before kickoff.
- Hospitality tickets (via FIFA's Match Hospitality program) are far more expensive but include guaranteed entry, food and parking.
- If you miss every draw: Phase 4 last-minute drops are real. Have your FIFA account ready and refresh consistently 72h before the match.
